true. What matters is that you hit the target right. One of the things that’s been drilled into me is trying to cut the femoral artery in the crease of your leg (next to your groin). If you can cut the artery all the way through, they are going to be dead in at most a minute or two. What’s cool is that if you do it that close to the core of the body, the arters will contract up into the joint area of the hit. Emergency teams couldn’t be able to get a clamp on it before you bleed out. It is almost as certain a quick kill as shooting someone in the back of the head.

You just reminded me of the Blackhawk Down situation. They had a guy wounded in exactly the way you described and the artery had retracted up into him after it was severed.
I’m no knife expert, but once you learn where those arteries are, you never forget. Most people think to watch out for a slash/stab to the midsection or higher, but not down around the thighs.
