My mother was a Neil Diamond groupie, I don’t usually tell people.

Neil’s my go-to guy for Karaoke when I find myself in a bar that has it and I’m drunk enough not to care if people laugh at me. I’ve memorized most of his songs…got an elderly black lady to sing “You don’t bring me flowers” with me one time at this dive on the Mission. It was a blast. That was in 2003 I guess, so it’s been 7 years since I’ve done that…maybe I’m overdue.
