Many folk here have altered their nics to make fun of Benghazi but I suspect that episode is going to haunt the Administration for some time to come.

No we didn’t do it to make fun of Benghazi, I’m not making light of the death of four Americans who served their country with honor.

We did it to mock the attempts by Fox news and the rest of the right wing media to turn it into an anti-administration scandal. The constant steady drumbeat of Benghazi…Benghazi…Benghazi in their “reporting” often based on hearsay and outright fabrication of the facts.

Mythical laser target designators, armed drones, stand down orders, a general arrested for trying to help, AC-130H mission aborted, Seals called off, etc, etc…none of it true. Their willingness to publish outright lies from questionable sources that no journalist with integrity would touch without an independent means of verification is appalling.

It was little more than them daily throwing any mud they could find or think up at the president and praying that some of it would stick. That is what, I at least, am mocking.
