re: #305 Teddy’s Person

I teach at basically a community college in the Seattle area (although they’ve dropped “community” from their name). We’re on the quarter system and last week was week three. In addition, I’ve been out a couple of days with the plague. My classes are mostly populated with high school juniors and seniors participating in Washington state’s Running Start Program. That said, I’ve not noticed much edginess, and I’ve not specifically talked to them about Kavanaugh. I’m only an adjunct and try to be more convert with my politics so that some conservative students doesn’t complain, and the college stops giving me classes. It’s not that the students can’t figure out that I’m liberal based on the material I choose to teach. My 20th century course is basically a course on the civil rights movement starting in the late 19th century.

I teach high school, so my students often don’t have quite as motivation when I want to talk about the agrarian/urban divide in the late 19th century or some such.
