Because he’s not a very good criminal. He thought he could bluster and bulkshit his way around this like he does all his other business dealings.

The core problem is that Trump was always a security risk. Always.

Had he been anyone else seeking a job requiring clearances, he would have been rejected out of hand. Jared and Ivanka were rejected for their clearances but Trump overrode the rejection.

Jared lied on his clearances, which is still a federal felony. It’s as if that was all memory holed too. He’s still a security risk. Ivanka too.

The whole family is a crime syndicate, and that the GOP tied itself to Trump and kept on defending Trump even after the warrant was executed is going to be a whole lot of schadenfreude, but I’d rather see indictments and prosecutions of same.

Oh, and the do something crowd has to find something else to do something about, because Garland did something… and did something in a big way. The case he’s making against Trump should result in indictments soon enough… (if Garland does something. /)
