Oh I totally agree. I actually use that as a reason to delay further exploitation of some of these sources at this point.

We can replace petroleum as an energy source. Some of those other uses, not so much.

Further, increasing output doesn’t make us save it, it just goes into use immediately. We need to start treating oil as a non-renewable resource.
