Mithril! The elves coveted it, etc. etc.
Aluminum was highly coveted when it was first isolated and produced. The house of Napoleon was among the first with aluminum dinner ware. The French created an alloy of roughly two parts silver to one part aluminum, and found that the dinnerware composed of such was resistant to tarnishing as was common with the sterling ware.
