Midwest communities brace for record flooding. We’re going to see a whole lot of that in coming days and weeks across the Midwest. And the inevitable disaster declarations and requests for federal aid from representatives across the region, including those who rejected #Sandy aid or who demanded that Congress provide offsets for any aid package. I’m fully expecting that at least some will demand that aid for their constituents be free from any of those preconditions, laying bare the fact that this is all about politics and not about governance - good or otherwise.
