Burying the lede - RIDOT got curious what was being hauled, pulled it over, and realized it was a 560,000 pound generator that was so far over the weight limits on RI bridges, that they believe it would have caused a collapse of bridges along the route - some of which are known to be structurally deficient.

The mover thought they could haul it because they thought they’d get a permit.

Ummm…. no.

Guess those free market fuckers who think there’s too much regulation think the hauler was okay to do this.

It’s quite likely the RI DOT will be making the hauler disassemble the whole damn thing and take it away piecemeal.
