Marco Rubio in some circles is being lauded for showing up. That’s what it’s come to. Doing your job is now exemplary action. So he shows up to a non hand picked audience on live TV and is promptly shown to be the idiot he always was. What? No snappy bible verse? The kids ripped his arguments to pieces. And he knows it.

I wonder if journalists were watching, and getting pointers on how to ask questions and follow up questions until you get an answer or stunned silence.

He may be a sacrificial douche. But he did show up to face a totally hostile audience. Perhaps he will finally realize that he will never be president and will use this experience to rethink his positions and do the right thing
