I have written this here before and will repeat it again: we here are a self-selected (except when Charles has to do banning) group of mostly older people who, even if we don’t have a lot of formal education, have learned through our lives quite a bit.

And we’re fairly literate.

But this is not true of the population in general.

Which is why our opinions here are often the minority compared to the greater population.

This is why I am very cautious about extrapolating my own conclusions, about this or that issue or person, to the population at large.

If Facebook has any value at all, it has shown me just how many of my relatives are latent (or out) bigots. Also, the plethora of Facebook groups dedicated to the most idiotic items is astounding.

Is this about hamburger joints?
