The Dow tanking.
Buy American provisions (for steel etc.) in the stimulus.
Increase in taxes for the “rich”, including capital gains and corporate taxes.
The stimulus package sucking up private capital for government directed projects.
Creation of “czars” and “organizations” to manage all of this.

Herbert Hoover:
Dow tanking
Creation of Smoot-Hawley tariffs
Increased taxes

Roosevelt
Dow tanking
Creation of NRA, AAA, RA, WPA, with massive funding for each
Creation of “managers” to oversee projects and supervise private industry

How’d that all work out for ‘em Obama?
