“American Ignorance of Islam?” I thought that we had the teachable moment on 9/11. That is when a lot of people really began to look at the RoP & it opened lots of eyes.

Yet, Mogahed’s declaration that her loyalty goes first to the United States, published Monday in an interview with Al Masry al Youm, disappointed some people.

“I wish your loyalty was to your Islam first, Egypt second and your Arabism third and then to anything else,” wrote a reader identifying himself as the Tiger of Arabs. “I am afraid that they might make a fool out of you and use you as a cover for policies that don’t serve Egypt and the Arab and Muslim world.”

WTF. The United States does not exist to SERVE Egypt or the rest of the Muslim world. If we can get along fine, if we can be helpful with projects and programs that benefit the over all peace in the region, fine, but we don’t exist to cater to the whims of a religion that has a mandate to convert the world to their ways.

This attitude sums up the entitlement mentality of many Muslims across the globe. “We come first, we are special and we don’t care if about your history or culture, we are the chosen, deal with it.”
