In all honesty, Apple is not the company that is ever going to give you longevity and continued support. When I buy an Apple product, it is done so knowing that I will likely only receive support for the duration of the warranty period and I should not expect software updates to work on the hardware past that date.

I guess I’ve found just the opposite. My current old iMac has gone longer and been more supported than any PC I’ve owned, all the way back to the XT.
