I grew up thinking we were the good guys. I’ve witnessed enough bad to think, well, nobody is perfect. I’ve seen enough of this to know now that this nation is still stuck in the past. Some of that past never existed. Some of it is as real as it was 100 years ago. 50 years ago. 25 years ago. Cities burned in the 60’s. War raged. Riots.This nation has weeping sores. This nation has a number of cults who have made the flag and the Bible weapons against its own citizens. And The Statue Of Liberty now is nothing more than a “gift” from France. Not anything but piece of structural metal with a creed later nailed to it that means….Nothing. And now the absolute worst POS man we could possibly elect sits and jerks off with a nuke button. Pissing contest with another madman. Actually pumping his ego as Trump pumps his own. And that Party Of Personal Responsibility, that Moral Majority, that Compassionate Conservative smile and hug? Busy looting as the idiot who bullied them goes completely off the rails. This is, in a way, normal. Trump is what you get from a Cargo Cult such as the GOP.
Cursed to be living in interesting times it seems.
Civilization is built on bones. You just hope they are not yours.
Mueller is quietly at work. That will be the true litmus of who and what we have become. THAT will tell you.
And if your Democracy is dependent on Military Generals to hold your POTUS in line, well something is broken. Badly.
We are not far from being a threat to world peace, and people are excited over that.
