Interesting manipulation tactic. Every time a tax gets reduced, that becomes the new baseline. Eventually taxes will hit zero. If you add in all the government support to large corps taxes will go negative.

Did the GOP signers not see the inevitable end point of this and the potential problems with zero revenues?

The only thing they were thinking about was the mean things Grover would say about them if they didn’t sign his stupid pledge. Really, someone in the leadership long ago should have told Norquist to kindly fuck off. He’s not an elected official. He’s an armchair general whose stated fantasy is to “drown the government in a bath tub.” Someone like that shouldn’t have the influence he’s attained.
