I went to the West Bank a long time ago (when I was in the Navy). I didn’t go to the religious spots, but did tour.

I enjoyed the trip, everyone treated me kindly.

The same was repeated for every Muslim-majority nation I went to (Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Turkey).

Thanks to our current administration, I wouldn’t go anywhere near the Middle East.

We had sailors from a port-call for one Christmas—a couple frigates doing some work in Haifa. Our little commissary ran a weird deal with the Navy for quarterly bulk resupply of things like shrimp that were difficult to get locally.
