re: #182 ObserverArt
Well, it is very obvious by the blowback you initially got from LGF members that Roseanne was nuclear to many a liberal/progressive sensibility.
So I have a question. If you know more than half of your potential audience in not even going to give it a chance, then to who were you trying to sell the show?
……
I have to challenge you there. Many shows may turn off a large percentage of the potential audience — for example, more than half the population is not interested in science fiction or family comedies or police dramas etc ( a different half in each case). You are never going to develop a show with a loyal fanbase if you try to satisfy everyone. You develop a show that will appeal to a certain audience and then hope that you attract enough viewers to keep the show on the air.
