Two legends from different musical worlds and from different times. Both are no longer with us.

That was about 40 years ago, and they were playing in remembrance of something Louie Armstrong played with Jimmie Rogers 40 years prior to that. So here we sit in remembrance of their remembrance looking as far back as they were.

That’s a real slice of America.

I enjoy finding interesting pairings of various artists. On the overnight threads, I often link such instances for littleoldlady, but with a theme of artists her and I enjoy, like various artists with Julie Andrews. I’ve found some great stuff out there of Julie with Carol Burnett, and Gene Kelly.
