Sounds like my damn brother, who uses turns of phrase like “the lesser evil is still evil” in place of cogent argument.

And the ‘dems need to earn our vote’ noise. I heard that from him about Nader in 2000. According to him, it wasn’t Nader voter’s fault that Bush was elected. It was Gore’s for losing. “After all, he lost his home state”.

But it’s really just refusing to take responsibility for his vote.
