Even if the plot were true, the logic is very revealing. Why do the gray counties (with half the population) get to override the wishes of the blue counties (with half the population)? Because the people in the gray think that they’re Real America and their desires are automatically more important?

(I mean, yes, we have minority protections to prevent tyrannical majority rule - federalism, the Bill of Rights, etc. That’s Civics 101, and it applies as much to the gray trying to impose on the blue as vice versa.)
