This is a part of the Berniebro argument that starts to make sense: that appealing to any sort of moderate or centrist sentiments in the GOP is all but pointless: it is best to pursue a progressive agenda that has nothing to do with the GOP.

Unfortunately, if we want any chance at retaking Congress next year, we’re going to have to find some way to appeal to those moderate and centrist “independents” in the voter pool. And the reason for that is the Berniebros made the decision last year that unless we’re flying the hammer and sickle over the DNC, they’re not interested in supporting the party.
