$50 in 1966 (she graduated in 1970, so I’m using 1966 as her freshman year) translates to about $400 today. So, $800 per year. That’s about half what I was paying in 1998/1999 at Long Beach State. Now it’s just short of $7,00 per year.

Pretty hard to pay that out of pocket if you’re working 20 hours a week at $15/hour and to be able to afford the other essentials of life.

I went to Pomona College in Claremont, class of ‘84. It was $8000 a year then, now it’s $52,000/year tuition. Plus room and board.
