I’m a bit aware of this. I made my daughter a ghost costume when she was young. Then I had to modify, and cut and sew, and modify yet again to get everyone past the first reaction: Why is she wearing Klan? After that, mummies and vampires and zombies and pumpkins and, well, anything but ghosts.
