Yeah that’s what pisses me off about Western Chavistas. They think Venzuelans are too stupid to know what’s good for them. Patronizing as hell attitude. For what it’s worth, the best criticisms I saw of that regime came from Venezuelan liberals but to people like this, they’re “fascists.” *rolls eyes*.

It’s black-and-white thinking: Chavez wasn’t a right-wing US puppet, so he was GOOD. Anyone protesting him must be a right-wing US puppet, and therefore BAD. Any criticism by the USG, no matter how well earned, is tantamount to sending in the CIA.

The enemy of your enemy is not necessarily your friend.
