re: #308 Dr Lizardo

They’re also looking in Romania, and here in the eastern part of the Czech Republic as well. Haven’t heard if they’ve found anything yet, but I think this latest gambit by Moscow is likely to increase the search for alternatives to Russian energy sources.

The Czechs are also looking at nuclear power; there was a plan for a nuclear plant about 8 miles from where I live, but it was shelved a couple of years ago. Apparently from what I read in a local source, that plan has been dusted off.

I think this latest BS from Putin has put a lot of Eastern and even Western Europe into the mindset of looking to remove the yoke that Russia was keeping on them. Up til now it was mostly a necessary evil, Russia being such a major exporter of petroleum and natural gas. But now, in light of Russia using those exports to control the response to its adventurism, the quest for alternatives is likely to begin anew.
