I think having gone to bed on Nov. 8th before the reality was known reduced the trauma of Trump’s election. I think those who watched the results in real time are suffering more.

This is not meant to minimize anything. The trauma is real in both situations, but those, ‘oh my god, NONONONO!’ memories in combination with the immediate knowledge of the possible consequences make for a noxious brew.

I could not stay up. I count myself lucky in hindsight.

Yeah, it was a terrible experience. Believe me. Worse than 1994 and 2010.
