I say again, the Weimar Republic was fatally flawed (and mostly hated by its own citizens) from the beginning, and it was 13 years old when Hitler came to power. We are in much better shape than that, and most of us know how much we have to lose if we don’t defend it.

Right. We have their example, too. The thing is, some of us *ahem* think we’re catastrophizing to worry about the parallels.
