I’m not sure I would go that far. Many of the more crowded areas of this planet have not been the centers of warfare in a long time, while sparsely populated areas have seen warfare in recent times.

What we have faced, though, is the problem with nationalism-at-all-costs. This gets to the crux of the us-vs-them problem.
