How about a nation that truly values civil rights —not just property rights.

It’s all about perceptions. Make America Great Again. America First (all the tried and true white supremacist/neo Nazi slogans for decades gone by). Get white people who fondly remember the days when minorities didn’t or couldn’t vote and women knew their place was to be a brood mare and nothing more.

Trump’s goal is to blame Obama for the national condition and that Trump’s the only one who can fix it. He did it during the campaign, and he’s still doing it.

Make people think that Obama broke the nation, when he did the very opposite.
Make people think that the economy sucks(sucked) and that he’s going to make it better and bigger and more power than ever.
Make the nation think that crime is out of control and not that crime is at or near historic lows - in raw terms and per capita levels.
Make people think that cops are being targeted by criminals - when cops killed in the line of duty by criminals is also near lows.
Make people think that illegal aliens are behind the crime and drug epidemics, when they’re actually smaller percentage than the general public.

All you have to do to buy into this nonsense is ignore all the statistics and evidence.

The Trump voters have willingly gone along with all this, and they still back Trump despite all the lies (or perhaps because of the lies - they need the lies to validate their own worldviews).
