unfortunately, that quickly breaks down into cries of “deport them all” and “build a wall”
but true reform would involve a lot of things that people will never accept, like a universal ID card for all citizens and legal residents. It can be as simple as issuing photo SS cards in one version for citizens and another for residents.
It would involve reforming labor laws.
And it would necessarily involve an amnesty for people who have live here, obeyed the law and paid their taxes.
It would involve controlling our borders. A wall is not an answer in itself, some physical restrictions might be needed, but the main restrictions should be legal and administrative.
