It’s a tough scale to balance. Can’t be too wonky but can’t be too simple in your message.
Why can’t you be too simple? Simple is best, especially for reaching low-info voters (I mean seriously…how complex was Obama’s 2008 “Hope and Change” slogan?)
As far as I’m concerned, the only successful GOPer tactics we shouldn’t be using are:
a) lies
b) appeals to bigotry
Everything else (e.g. appeals to emotion, “clickbait”) are absolutely fair game.
