Why?

Trump will make Tuesday’s announcement at a rally at his Trump Tower in New York City. He will then travel to Iowa, and then to New Hampshire on Wednesday.

If Trump does in fact announce his candidacy, he will be the wealthiest current Republican presidential candidate.

Just headline grabbing. He’ll back out again proclaiming that he’s above the playing in the pit with the other candidates and only willing to actually run if the nomination is handed to him on a silver platter right now. Sounds like a demand for privilege or divine right when you look at it that way.
