I’ve always been at odds with the common “don’t speak ill of the dead” tradition. It promotes whitewashing the wrong deeds of the recently departed. But, this is also a moment Mrs. Schlafly’s family will need to properly mourn her. Let them have this moment in private.

Nope. I spoke of her awfulness while she was still alive, right up to when she died.

She was awful. Their mourning doesn’t change that, and I doubt her family is reading Little Green Footballs right now. How long do you wait? A week, a month, a year from now she will still be awful in my book. I will not hold back my opinion to assuage delicate conservative flowers who want to shut down my right to my speech and my thoughts.
