Ha! Though of course every parent does do that. But not every parent goes on Twitter dumbing down socialism to taking candy and giving it to other kids. Trick or treating is a barter economy too and a pirate one too. I always stole my brothers’ candies while they slept or otherwise were away from it.

The years my son went out with his cousin, they would trade candy with each other for the ones they liked best.
