It’s kind of how the British nationalists talk about their former empire. Nostalgia as policy is the worst thing you can do which is why I think that part of the left is equally naive ot think we can just go back to 1950’s tax brackets and social programs and all will be fine. We need 21st century solutions for 21st century problems. Not to sound like a cliche but that’s what we need.

It’s going to involve higher taxes, and I would prefer a progressive taxing solution.
