This is why grandchildren are better than children. Both kinds grow up, but you can hand off the grandchildren for a few years when they quit being cute, while they learn to behave.

Trouble is, you can’t start with the grandchildren. They gotta be second.

My uncle figured out how to start with grandchildren, his second wife had two kids in their late teens/early twenties when they got married.
