It’s not just filibuster threats, the whole tone of the GOP has been one of embracing conspiracy theories, racists, dominionists, etc etc.

When you have that strong of a band of crazies to wail over Fistgate, Bowgate 1 and 2, Painting-gate, Death Panel-gate, and every other nonsense-gate known to mankind it kind of gums up the works.

I personally would prefer that the Dem version of HC reform would not be passed.

HOWEVER, it would have been helpful if somewhere along the line, some Republican, instead of yelling and screaming about the things you’ve mentioned, had come up with a list of what is wrong with our HC system, what it is that is not working properly and a list of ALTERNATIVE “fixes”. I have yet to see, from either party actually, any explanation or any workable alternatives. Surely they exist - and if the Dems are insistent on this version of HC reform, then it would be up to the Republicans to come up with the alternatives, and they simply have not.
