Frankly, I think they’re making way to big a deal of this “Mormon baptism” thing. This ritual doesn’t change anyone’s history or memory which is what’s left anyway once a person is dead.

Exactly. The argument that this is “rewriting history”, that I’ve read somewhere, doesn’t make sense - not only these people are not counted as Mormons, even if they were, the LDS church is too insignificant for their private rituals to budge history-writing in any direction.
