Um, sorry but proposals like getting rid of the EPA/OSHA/etc. rather than addressing the flaws loses me. Too many wanting to fix blame and not the problem. Same guys that get pissed at me for wanting universal b/g for gun purchases. When I was a NRA certified instructor, they wanted universal registration. Right now the NRA approach to gun control is making it harder to promote the sporting uses, build or run a shooting range, and making it more necessary for me to get a CCW for work. Between them and the boil a frog slowly handgun ban in California I understand I can’t trust any one sides leadership.

I think the NRA acts as it does because it feels (with good reason) that adopting a best-we-can-get strategy for some parts of the country leaves them vulnerable to a salami-slicing strategem.
