I’ve had many a night where I just want to break down in tears because I can remember life before the Pandemic and before Trump. It’s a much darker place.

The election of 2000 started America on a dark path. For a few years, with the 2006 elections that brought Democrats into power in Congress, it appeared that our direction had changed and then the Obama election gave us real hope.

But the 2010 election started us back down the wrong road and the 2014 election accelerated our journey toward destruction. With the GOP in charge of both houses and McConnell in charge of the Senate, we were already heading in a very wrong direction. If Ted Cruz were elected in 2016, there may have been no way to recover from a journey to absolute plutarchy. Of course, depending on what happens on November 3, there may still be no way to escape a very dark fate.
