Y’all probably remember the fatal crash of an automated Uber back in 2018 while there was a driver in the passenger seat. She’s being accused of negligent homicide. Well, the case is a bit more complicated than I thought. The defense is alleging that she was NOT watching TV on her phone (specifically, “The Voice”) but was responding to work messages on her work phone at the time of the crash. Anyway…

Does the specific thing she was doing on her phone matter, if she wasn’t paying attention to be able to avoid a crash? FFS.
