Obama is playing the GOP perfectly. By most accounts, with Merrick Garland the SCOTUS will get a moderate. If the GOP refuses to vote on any nominee and then Hillary wins, she gets to put up a card-carrying Leftist/Progressive. If Trumps wins, he gets to put up Dennis Rodman.

On guns Garland is no moderate, given the blatantly unconstitutional DC law he was willing to sign off on, and that means no Garland. Frankly, I think Republicans should vote him down on that basis, rather than block him, but before doing that the NRA should spread the word is states like West Virginia and Montana and force some Blue Dog Democrats to announce their opposition to Garland, on pain of being of being declared failures on their NRA Report Card.

Because on firearms, Garland should be Pass/Fail: Vote for him, you FAIL, vote against him and you won’t get an ‘F’ this year regardless of other votes. I think the NRA has a good chance to Bork Judge Garland and I think it should be done. The majority of the American public does not agree with DC’s draconian gun laws, and that can be used to build support for Republicans and gun rights.
