Georgina Bloomberg and Jessica Springsteen are champion show-jumpers (or maybe I should say… riders of champion horses). It’s a super-expensive sport, and somewhat unfair that the riders (who also put up the money) get all the credit when it’s really the trainers and horses whose talents deserve the acclaim, but so it goes.

Part of what makes it so expensive (besides that just buying the horse in the first place is six figures minimum, some of the yearlings from champion lineage go for seven figures at auction) — is that the horse needs 5 or 6 years of training before they can even qualify for their first competition. They need a lot of space, the rider has to spend 5 or 6 hours every day with the animal so people who need to earn a living will never be able to do it, and that saying “don’t look a gift horse in the mouth”? They eat a LOT. And none of it’s budget-price.

Georgina can afford to keep the ponies happy: Dad is said to be worth somewhere north of $50 Billion: and unlike a certain President we all (unfortunately) know, it’s all in fairly solid assets.

Mayor Mike once noted that he gives away - every year - more than Donald Trump is worth.*
