Right wingers: Gov. Cuomo is a criminal who should be prosecuted for purportedly hiding deaths in nursing homes.

Same right wingers: Trump did nothing wrong while publicly and openly denying the death toll and minimizing death counts via CDC hiding data.

The nursing home situation in NY and other states wasn’t great, but getting precisely zero assistance from the feds made all of this worse. There was zero leadership from Trump except to downplay severity of outbreak that has now killed nearly 500,000 Americans.

Right wingers are going all in on Cuomo being run out of office for his handling of the pandemic as it raced through nursing homes across the state. Let’s just ignore that Trump did all the same things on a national scale. Even worse, Trump blocked data sharing that would have given the state more resources - like the very tests that they say were being withheld. It took weeks and months to get testing up to a level where it could be applied to nursing homes.

Cuomo’s actions were mediocre at best, and a whole lot worse than Inslee, but Cuomo got the press while Inslee didn’t court it. But Cuomo did take leadership when Trump left a vacuum on what to during the pandemic.
