Great. So they want someone to be able to blast up a classroom without all the noise to warn the next classroom across the hall of what is coming. Sounds like a reasonable plan if you are a complete moron.

Sound suppressors don’t really make the firing of a gun silent and if you were in the next room you’d know you were hearing gunfire. But what they actually do is reduce noise levels enough to prevent hearing damage as well as reduce sound enough that if you were further away than 50 meters you wouldn’t know a gun was fired unless the user fired a burst, which only full-auto weapons can do. Sound suppressors get a bad rap, but their main purpose is to reduce noice levels to prevent hearing damage.
