As wrong as it is for me to say such a thing, I sort of wish that the feds would just outright deny aid to red regions in such events for the next couple of years. And when the inevitable wailing and gnashing of teeth comes about, simply point to their voting and campaigning record with regards to spending cuts and “gub’mint is too big, reduce spending” rhetoric.

Hey, you wanted smaller government, so here’s your smaller government. Figure it out yourselves, no more handouts and freebies.

I feel ya but remember there are kids who don’t vote and have a say in what their parents have voted for. It is tiring though to have these people bellyache about “big government” and then as soon as a disaster hits them, they want government aid. I honestly have no problem helping people in need out but I just wish they would shut the fuck up about government being bad when they’re the first ones who scream for government cash.
