So suppose the government gets shut down. Who gets the blame? The GOP? no, the WASHINGTON ESTABLISHMENT as a whole. And then Trump, still selling himself successfully as the outsider and anti-establishment President, attends a few high-profile meetings and brokers a deal to re-open government.

Then he is praised as the consummate deal maker and the one who saved us from Washington elitist insiders.

Didn’t work that way the last two times — both times the Repugs got the blame, and took a big hit. Problem was, it was short-term. We need to concentrate on keeping their bad actions before the public all the time.
