I’m thinking that maybe if we bristled (correctly) at “Barack HUSSEIN Obama” from the right, we probably ought to be generous enough on the left to allow Nikki Haley to call herself Nikki Haley. Lord knows there’s plenty of reasons to criticize her on her merits without going after the name her parents gave her.

The difference is it’s his real name. Hers isn’t and the right would usually hate her just for her name - which is why she, and Jindal for that matter, never uses it.

It’s not that we bristled at Obama’s full name, it’s the inferred perjorative.
