I suspect a number of people alive and paying attention in the early 1970s can describe exactly what it looks like.

I graduated high school in 1972. I unfortunately voted for Nixon. So, I was around and becoming aware.

There are big differences involved in my opinion.

Biggest is we didn’t have a media that took sides with the president. They pretty much covered the whole thing straight giving both sides views, but not cheering and campaigning for the president.

We of course didn’t have social media so that people could lie and deceive and fake numbers of people commenting and backing and all the stuff that is going on now.

Nixon was a dick, but he also understood politics and he didn’t blame whole groups of people…he kept his blame to opposing politicians and some of the media…but nowhere near as venomous as Trump. Nixon loved this country, Trump loves only himself. Nixon was proud and protective of his legacy. Trump is just an asshole and is protective of his butt.

My conclusion…the law breaking and investigations have similarities. Everything else is off the clock worse politically and sociologically. Trump is way crazier than Nixon by far in my opinion. No comparisons in the two presidents as far as makeup.

Whatever was bad about Nixon, Trump is out to trump.
